Meet your instructors

Elena Keegan, E-RYT, 500- Owner and instructor

Elena Keegan is the proud owner and head instructor of Baton Rouge Yoga Company since 1996. Elena actually used to be a high school Spanish teacher, so teaching comes naturally to her! Elena is proud to hold her E-RYT 500, which means that she holds her 500 hour accredited teaching certification. Elena specializes in beginner and advanced Hatha Yoga, Gentle Cardiac Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga. Her teaching method produces an energizing session that enhances overall well-being, and ends with a blissful Shavasana (i.e. deep relaxation). She is a true believer that yoga empowers anyone who practices.



Alison McGehee, RYT 200

Alison has been a yoga instructor for five years and earned her certification through Yoga Steps Centre for Advanced Yoga Studies. She is also certified to teach pre-natal yoga.
Alison aims to lead a light-hearted, intuitive, meaningful class that feels accessible to her students. She is honored and humbled to have the opportunity to empower her students by strengthening their physical bodies and cultivating their inner awareness one breath at a time. She has three children, a dachshund, and a tabby cat. She wholeheartedly agrees with the yogic wisdom that we should sweat and smile every day!


John Eeds, RYT 200

John started teaching yoga after retiring from a career as a mechanical engineer. He is a certified yoga teacher and has studied primarily in vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga styles.
I enjoy teaching a challenging class and helping others to become aware of the inner strength and transforming power that a regular yoga practice develops and nurtures. Finding ones focus and awareness on the yoga mat helps us to recognize what is important in life and enables us to live fuller, richer lives.


Shannon Davis, RYT 200

Shannon Davis is a 200 RYT yoga instructor and is certified to teach Mat Pilates as well as the Reformer. She has been practicing various styles of yoga since 2000 and has trained under many yogis including: David Swenson, Rodney Yee and Baron Baptist. Shannon enjoys spending lots of time compiling the perfect playlist to accompany her lighthearted, ever-changing classes. She hopes to share with you the healing, balance and peace that yoga can bring to your life.
